The rabbit Snatcher
Ebonystar sat on top of Howling Rocks watching a rabbit munch on some grass a few tail lengths away. He was downwind from the rabbit so it didn't scent Ebonystar and the cat was very still, besides the ocasional twitch of the tail or flick of his ear. Ebonystar was going to use the rabbit as bait for hawks. He had heard stories of cats who were able to down the large birds and use them for prey and it was something he wanted to be able to do, even if it means risking his favorite prey.
The sun made it's way quickly across the sky and the rabbit had moved quite a lot. Ebonystar was starting to get impatient but he had nothing better to do at the moment, and he was determined to take down a hawk. Then a sudden movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. A grey and white tabby was making her way toward the rabbit, slowly and quietly. Ebonystar was about to interupt her when she broke into a sprint chasing down the rabbit. It let out a couple squeals as the she-cat's claws dug into its flesh and brought it down. She finished it off with a bite to the back of the neck.
"Hey!" He called to the grey and white tabby. She lifted her head from the rabbit and looked wide-eyed at Ebonystar who was approaching her quickly. "That rabbit was supposed to be mine." He growled as his patience was lost and frustration overtook him for a heartbeat.
The she-cat narrowed her eyes and bared her fangs at Ebonystar. "I caught this rabbit fair and square, bud!" She hissed trying to stand tall but was still not able to reach Eboystar's full height. She looked as if she wasn't going to stand down.
Ebonstar huffed and stepped forward leaning his face closer toward the intruder's. "Are you trying to be intimidating?" He mused matching her expression. The intruder flinched a bit but didn't back away.
"I'm not trying to be anything." She hissed lowly her blue eyes shining with anger.
Ebonystar backed away from the she cat and spoke with a change of tone. "My name is Ebonystar, you're currently in the territory of my clan which makes you an intruder and a theif." He said with a deadly calm tone but his tail showed he was anything but calm.
The she-cat was taken aback by the calmness of his voice and sudden change in dimeanor. She was also struck with a familiarity at the tom's name and the mention of a clan. "Y-you're a clan leader? There's no way.." The tabby eyes widened with a mixture of emotions.
"Yes, how did you know I was the leader? Most rogues and loners don't know what my name means."
"I'm from a clan. I mean, I used to be. My name was Stormpaw but it's just Storm now." The molly replied calming down.
Ebonystar smiled at the cat before him. "How would you like to be apart of a clan again then, Storm?"
Storm shook her head slowly but paused thinking. Ebonystar saw her reply and turned. "I wish you well." He said without looking at her and started to walk away.
Storm watched the black and white tom go sadly. She didn't want to relive what she had as Stormpaw. Her clan before had been destroyed while she was still an apprentice, it was traumatizing in the young cat's mind. But maybe Starclan had lead her to Ebonystar, she did still rely on them after all these moons.
She rushed forward after Ebonystar. "Wait! Ebonystar! I'll...I'd like to join your clan!"

Ebonystar and Storm arrived in camp after a long tour of Howlclan territory. They had buried the rabbit and went back for it when they were ready to head back to camp. Storm carried to to the fresh-kill pile that Ebonystar had pointed out. There were a couple of fresh mice in the pile so Storm set her catch on top of them.
Storm was exhausted but excited at the same time, she was able to face her past with a smile. She snapped out of her thoughts and realized that Ebonystar was staring at her with a smile.
"Since you are now a warrior of Howlcan I'd like to give you a warrior name. I've been thinking about it since I've met you." He purred jumping on top of the rock next to his den.
Storm watched him returning the smile as the excitement rose and her tiredness subsided. The sun had disappeared long ago and now the moon and stars shined down on the two cats in camp as if Starclan themselves had blessed the new warrior.
"I, Ebonystar, leader of Howlclan call upon our warrior ancestors to look down on this new warrior. Storm, do you promise to protect and defend Howlclan even at the cost of your life?" Ebonystar's voice resonated throughout the camp.
"I do."
"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your new name, Storm, from this moment on you will be known as Patchstorm, in honor of your old name and new clan. Starclan honors your journey and past and welcomes you as a full member of Howlclan."
Patchstorm smiled brightly at Ebonystar and the thought of Starclan. "Thank you." She said dipping her head. She liked her new name and Howlclan. Patchstorm was glad she had decided to join Ebonystar.
